Kruchten’s 4+1 Views

The Krutchen’s approach to software architectural views proposes a model made up of four main views plus an additional view that ties the other four together.

These views are illustrated in Figure 6.3 and described as follows:

■ Logical View – provides an object model of the design where Object-Oriented Design is the design paradigm used. The logical view focuses on mapping the functional requirements of the system to objects or object classes. The notation mostly used with this view is a UML (Unified Modeling Language) class diagram [Fowler 2004].
